The Afuri Shrine on Mt. Oyama, an ancient sanctuary dating back over 2,200 years, serves as a guardian of the Kanto region. Throughout its history, the shrine has maintained its status as a spiritual center, attracting pilgrims who bring various wishes. 

Today, Mt. Oyama remains a destination for individuals seeking success and fulfillment, with many visitors drawn to its breathtaking views, including the majestic sight of Mt. Fuji.

Dedicated to the enshrined deity, who is the father of Mt. Fuji's enshrined deity, Konohanasakuya-hime, Afuri Shrine holds a special connection between the two mountains. The tradition of "Ryomairi," involving pilgrimages to both Mt. Oyama and Mt. Fuji, was once a popular practice. 

Standing on Mt. Oyama allows one to appreciate the splendid panorama of Mt. Fuji, while, symbolically, Mt. Fuji gazes upon Mt. Oyama.
